Who remembers the children’s game Candy Land?

My kids and I were playing it the other day and it dawned on me how much we can learn about life from it.

Things like:

– Life is a winding path
– Sometimes you take MASSIVE steps forward (thank you, Queen Frostine)
– Sometimes you take teeny tiny steps forward that may not seem like anything significant, but they end up being meaningful
– Sometimes you draw a card that sends you way backwards, right when you’re at the finish line (darn Plumpy!!)
– There are shortcuts you can take, but they don’t always work out like you thought they would

I know, I know… it’s JUST a game!!

But maybe there are lessons even in the most silly of games.
